Starting a strange new journey...

I am 58 year-old (next week) veteran of the western way of life.

That means that:
- I am likely to be obese (check!)
- I am likely to have high cholesterol (check!)
- I am a good candidate for heart disease (unknown)
- I am likely to have some stomach disorder(s) (check!)
- I will probably have an autoimmune disease or two (check!)

It also means things like I have too much "stuff", I consume more than I need to of the planets resources, and I am probably greedy.

In other words, I am a typically western male of the kind that inhabits the USA, UK, Europe, Australia and increasingly other areas of the world.

I will, if I live long enough, probably consume a disproportionate amount of the medical resources of the UK, which the government seem intent on reducing by any means necessary anyway. And it is likely that I will be in considerable pain, using drugs for pain relief for at least some part of the rest of my life.

Not a pretty picture, but it would seem typical.

So, if there was a way to improve your chances of leading a healthier, possibly pain-free life, would you take it?

Here are my attempts to change what my current health is now (and could be in the future) through dietary and lifestyle changes.
